Mullen in Afghanistan for Front-Line View of War

Admeral mullen stopped of at Kadraha air force base to meet with local afghan leaders. He disscused the importance of the base and protecting the cities around the area. This city was also a taliban stronghold at one time and is imortant to be held. The american are having success holding it althought they have had many causilties. The americans can have success by making the oublic feel safe but the leaders are concerned with all the corruption in the government of afghanistan. Until the govermnet is delt with, they are worried about the crisis in afghistan.

With Climate Deal Up in Air, Obama Takes Lowered Expectations to Denmark

Obama will be meeting in Denmark Friday for a global warming summit. Hia goal is to leave a impression of the nations present to cut the emissions of green house gases. Currently at home legilation is held up until next year so nothing is currently being done in the United States. Our goal is to gut emissions byt 17 percent by 2020 a mere 4 percent increase from 1990. This is not a very big amount but its a start. We are also looking at raising the budget 100billion by 2020 to help underdeveloped countries with global warming. This is being critizied by senate because they are worried about giving money to nations who do not like us very much. The point is clear that we need to set an example and Obama is making the first step to doo this.

Nelson Could Support Filibuster of Senate Health Care Bill, Spokesman Says

Senator Ben Nelson is still holding out of the health care bill. Nelson is not satisfied with the funding of abortion as part of the bill. He will not stand for it aseveryone around him is pressuring him for a choice. Obama has met with him three times trying to pursade him. The catholic church has also been supporting Nelson in his decision. If nothing is done about the funding of abortion, then plan b will be to start over says Nelson although he would not want that.
I believe Nelson is making the right choice and representing his people by holding out on this bill. While i can not change the law i can support the choice of Nelson to actually do right by this bill.

Health Care Debate is coming to a hault

The Democrats are loosing support for their health care bill in senate. This comes largly do to what the bill covers such as abortion and private competition. The Dems are not relying on any Republicans to support their bill and the Republicans are turning their attention to Afghanistan anyway. Reid will not have the 60 votes he needs as he tries to make his place im history as the senator who did something about health care. He seems focused on his image rather than that of what is best for America. Im glad the Senate is actually looking at the affects of the bill then just blindly passing it. It is simple, do not get sick!

Nazi brought to justice after 65 years

89 year old John Demjanjuk is finally being brought to justice after 65 years. He was a prision guard in Sobibor, Poland who helped kill 27,900 Jews out of 250,000 killed there. John resides in the United States and has citizenship but he is being taking to Munich for his trial. He has 35 plaintiffs testifying against him. He lived a happy life while he stole thounds of others. If convicted he will face fifteen years in prision meaning five hours per person he killed. He will ot make fifteen years because of health problems. He may be a new man today but the fact is is that he killed so many without a second thought and that is not acceptable. This is said to be one of the last trials where Holocaust survivors will testify.

I agree with brining him to justice, Nazi's were monsters and they cannot be forgivin by justice means so eaisly.

Man aressted for fraud for passing a slow driver

A man was arrested in Flordia for impersonating a police officer. He flased lights and used a megaphone to pull over a old lady so he could go past her. He was aressted and then bailed out for what he did. The man was 20 years old and just not very smart. The lady puleed over was confused and did not know what happened.

This guy is an idiot but it sounds like something i would do!

Health Care vs. War

Senate is jumping off of the health care debate to finish things in Afghanistan. Obama is expected to increase troops over the next year ny 30,000- 35,000 troops. The supporters of this idea are maily Republicans with increasing Democratic support. The supporters are not trying to stop health care but delay it until next year so we can finish one thing before we stary another. I personaly think this is a good idea so later we do not have to front two very expencive bills at the same time. The war in total is costing 100billion while health care will cost 848 billion dollars. I think i would take 100 billion over 848 billion anyday and plus our troops need more support and we should be with our troops weather we like the war or not.

Forget the socialist health care i want them ragheads to be eliminated!

Democrats Face Electoral Backlash After Health Care Vote, Top Republican Warns

The Democrates have probably given themselves a fatablow passing the bill Saturday. While people want health care, they do not favor overspending and supporting people who dont even work- a deatil the Democrates clearly chose to ignore. I believe this bill will not pass the senate unless reformed to a more fitting bidget. Bush was kicked out of office for "overspending," and this was Obama's promise to reform if elceted which he has obisouly not help to. The peoples discontent with the Democrates by the recent Govenor elections in New Jersey and Virginia.
